About

Artistic Journey Overview
I’m Princewill Ndubuisi, a charcoal-led artist based in Leeds whose work quietly explores presence, texture, and the pause between seeing and feeling.
Charcoal is where I return again and again: its immediacy and depth let me build tone and emotion with a few decisive marks. Alongside charcoal I also work in pastel, oil and acrylic, letting each medium shape the ideas and moods of a piece. My practice is about listening to materials and allowing small discoveries, a smudge, a highlight, a scraped edge to direct the work.
I’m connected to communities on both sides of my practice: living and working in Leeds, while remaining part of Nigeria’s OMENKA and KreatorsCreed art groups. Those connections keep my work grounded in conversation between places, techniques and histories. I’ve shown in several group exhibitions and have been honored to receive portrait commissions, most notably a commissioned drawing of the Governor of Imo State.
What I hope for viewers is a moment of recognition: a glance that lingers, a detail that feels familiar. If you’d like to see more of my work, discuss a commission, please get in touch I’d love to hear from you.
